Brookfield India REIT Raises Rs 1,710 Crore (US$23.4 Million) From 39 Anchor Investors (The Economic Times)

February 4, 2021 – Canadian alternative investment major Brookfield Asset Management-backed Brookfield India Real Estate Trust has raised Rs 1,710 crore from 39 anchor investors including global institutional investors, insurance companies, mutual funds and long-only funds. 

Global entities including Schroders and Prusik apart from domestic financial institutions such as HDFC AMC, SBI NSE -0.28 % Life, Tata AIG, HDFC Life NSE -0.65 %, Kotak Mahindra AMC, and Bajaj Holdings NSE -0.12%, are among the key entities that participated in the fund raising.

hese anchor investors have committed investment in the Rs 3,800-crore issue at Rs 275 per unit. The public issue opens on Wednesday and closes on Friday. 

This will be India’s third REIT listing and second in the country during the ongoing pandemic. The proposed issue will be India’s first REIT which is 100% managed by an institution.
